Program Summary
Students spent seven weeks at Highland Springs Resort, an oasis in the South Californian desert, while attending a well established private school where they were able to experience the American school setting firsthand and interact with peers from various backgrounds and nations.
CLS instructors and students enjoyed visiting various amusement
and theme parks throughout the seven week program. Magical memories
were made at Disneyland. Students screamed with excitement on roller
coasters at 6 Flags Magic Mountain and enjoyed an inside view of
the movie sets and uncovered the behind-the-scenes secrets of legendary
films at Universal Studios, Hollywood.
All the CLS students loved making sand castles on the beach under
the warm California sun with the waves from the Pacific crashing
at their feet. Our San Diego excursion featured a visit to Sea World
to meet the famed whale Shamu and to the world renowned San Diego
Zoo to see a wide variety of animals.
One of the highlights of the program was the Valentine's Day &
Farewell Party. CLS students invited their peers from school and
fifty three of them attended along with twenty five of their parents.
It was a party like no other. CSLS students spent four weeks preparing
for the party. It featured a magic show a tae kwon do demonstration
and play. Snacks and refreshments were served and students danced
to top ten music until they dropped. If it weren't for school the
next morning the party may still be going!
